Our Story
Once upon a time…
in a land not so far away, two midwesterners met on what some historians consider the most jewish set up, ever. The guy, recently back in Chicago after living in Miami for law school, set up by one of his best AEPi friends from Michigan State University. The girl, freshly graduated from University of Illinois about to start a career in digital PR, set up by a new friend she met on her post-grad Birthright trip to Israel.
All it took was two drinks for Lauren and Aaron to know they “just clicked.”
They clicked so well, in fact, that after meeting on the Chicago River for a couple rounds they decided to keep the date going. Only problem? Aaron had dinner with friends later that night while Lauren was, unsurprisingly, extremely hungry.
With just two drinks of life spent together, Lauren enjoyed an entire plate of burrata to herself thinking how a guy she met a mere two hours ago made her feel so comfortable while Aaron simply gazed, mesmerized by the confidence and pure skill Lauren showed that day.
And the rest, as the story goes, is history…
The Proposal
Sunrise hikes are a normal thing for Lauren and Aaron, so it wasn’t too suspicious when Aaron asked if Lauren wanted to go on a spectacular sunrise hike one friend recommended during their last trip to Arizona. The fact that Aaron still wanted to go when they woke up to a high chance of rain, maybe a little more suspicious. Still, Lauren clearly wasn’t expecting it too much, seeing as she wore her hair in what Aaron called “cute nerd” pigtails that morning. It wasn’t until they took their first step on the trail and Aaron turned to her, his serious face on, and said “Lauren” that she knew the moment was here. But, the second she realized that the “other sunrise photographer” was actually their photographer, the life-changing moment was put on hold for a quick hair change. Then…
She said YES!
The scenic proposal was followed by a magical desert photoshoot around the base of the gorgeous Superstition Mountains. It was the picture perfect way to start their next life adventure together. And the surprise didn’t end there! Aaron truly shocked Lauren during lunch when she walked in to a table full of some of their closest family and friends.
